Nottingham University Hospitals Trust (NUH) is looking to appoint a single Home Computer Services provider to deliver a tax-efficient service to the Trust, enabling employees to purchase IT equipment through a salary sacrifice scheme. The Trust was formed on 1 April 2006, when the Queen’s Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital merged in order to develop a range of high quality, sustainable patient services across the two campuses. NUH is one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK and provides acute and specialist services to 2.5 million people within Nottingham and the surrounding communities from two hospital sites. NUH’s vision is to become the country’s best acute teaching trust by 2016. The trust currently has approximately 13,000 employees within varying roles who could potentially benefit from a Home Computing scheme, this also benefiting the trust through reductions in National Insurance contributions, increased morale and a potential increase in employee IT skills and literacy across the workforce. The scheme should also benefit the employees accessing the scheme by giving them the ability to lease the highest specification equipment of their choice, affordable payments over a period of 36 months that are paid directly from their monthly salary payments with no requirements for credit checks or deposits.
