Tender description

It is proposed to restore/reconstruct the Gobbins Coastal Path from Wyse's Eye to Gordon's Leap. The path was officially closed to the public in 1954 and at present is in a state of disrepair, with many of the original metal work structures either damaged or collapsed because of sea erosion and rust. Larne Borough Council seeks to engage the services of a suitably qualified Geologist and Geotechnical Engineer to assess the cliff stability in its natural environment, identify any areas at risk of rock fall, provide comment on the anticipated impact of construction on the cliff stability and make recommendations for physical protection and other means of facilitating long term access and maintenance within the context of the proposed works.
