FSNI Supply, Delivery, Installation and Maintenance of a Coldstore Unit

Forensic Science Northern Ireland (FSNI) is seeking to purchase a brand new coldstore unit for the storage of exhibits. This coldstore unit will replace an existing unit and will require to be sited on the same footprint (see below). The nature of the items and FSNI core activities dictate that there will also be a need to provide support for the seamless transition and preservation of exhibits from the existing coldstore unit to the new coldstore unit. Therefore FSNI will also require a temporary static coldstore unit to the same specification as the new requirement to be provided in the interim period. FSNI will accept a used unit for the temporary solution. Any temporary coldstore solution must be located on-site. This provision should support FSNI’s Quality Management Procedures which require a pre-determined 24 hour period of operation, followed by a minimum period of 2 weeks calibration & testing, before normal operational use can be approved. The acceptable limits of temperature for general operation are -25°C to -20°C. This does not include times when the access door is open or the unit is undergoing a defrost cycle.
