Fleet Replacement 2013 2017

Tender description

As part of its fleet procurement strategy covering the period up to 2020, Translink proposes to initiate the first procurement phase for delivery of vehicles until March 2017. It is planned that this phase will include the following vehicles, Lot 1 Midibus c.30 vehicles with an option for c.30 vehicles 2013–2015 Lot 2 Metro Double Deck Bus c.45 vehicles with an option for c.30 vehicles 2013–2016 Lot 3 Metro Low Floor Single Deck Bus c.25 vehicles with an option for c.25 vehicles 2013–2016 In addition Translink is planning for the following vehicles on a later schedule, Lot 4 Rural Single Deck Bus c.120 vehicles with an option for c.60 vehicles 2014 –2017 Delivery years run from April to March. eg Lot 1 is April 2013 – March 2015. Translink reserves the right to award the contract(s) for any combination of Lots. Ulsterbus Limited will be the contracting entity on its own behalf and on behalf of Citybus Limited, trading as Metro. In all cases the options mentioned for additional vehicles will be at Translink’s sole discretion to exercise. The method of acquisition will be by outright purchase and it is anticipated that support maintenance activities will be provided by Translink in-house resources. However consideration may be given to support mechanisms such as eg pence per mile parts contracts. It is anticipated that order(s) will be confirmed no later than September 30, 2013 for Lots 1, 2 and 3 with deliveries significantly completed no later than March 2014. It is anticipated that order(s) for Lot 4 will be confirmed no later than June 30, 2014 for delivery during the remainder of 2014 – 2015 and into 2015 – 2017.
