Tender description

As part of the national Transforming Community Services (TCS) agenda, BCPFT is in the process of growing into a Black Country-wide organisation. Throughout 2011, BCPFT is taking on a range of services from other local health and social care providers across the Black Country. These services include; • Mental Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Substance Misuse Services from Wolverhampton; • Learning Disability Services from Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton; • Children, Young People and Families’ Services from Dudley. When all the services have transferred to BCPFT the new organisation will cover a much larger geographical area and be more than double the size. As a consequence, there is an opportunity for BCPFT to improve controls and functionality and reduce manual processes as well as undertaking an integration exercise across previously disparate organisations. To this end, a decision has been taken to implement a new finance system to replace the current Sales and General Ledger functions, with additional modules for procurement, ordering, receipting and stock control. The current Ledger system in use at the Trust is Sage. Due to the age of the current system the Trust has been advised that due to more recent releases it is likely to be unsupported within the next year, which also coincides with the expiry of the current support contract in August 2012, necessitating the timely introduction of a new arrangement. The Trust operates over a number of different sites, although Finance, Procurement and IT staff are centralised at the Trust’s corporate headquarters. End users are distributed over a wide geographical area including Sandwell, Wolverhampton, Dudley and Walsall.
