Extension and Refurbishment Works at Castlereagh House, Belfast

SONI Ltd has the responsibility of ensuring the safe, secure and economic operation of the high voltage electricity system in Northern Ireland. It is regulated by the Northern Ireland Utility Regulation (UReg). SONI holds the licence as independent electricity Transmission System Operator (TSO) in Northern Ireland and is a wholly owned subsidiary of EirGrid plc. Due to substantial business growth, SONI wish to build a new office block linked to its head quarters at Castlereagh House, carry out refurbishment works to Castlereagh House and extend the car park to facilitate an increase in staff numbers. SONI has appointed an integrated design team comprising of the following: Architect, Civil and Structural Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineer, H&S CDMC and Cost Management SONI seeks interest from building contractors and wishes to appoint a single supplier to deliver the project in accordance with the requirements set out in the attached Information Memorandum and PQQ document. The successful contractor will be required to work collaboratively with SONI’s on-site Project Manager and the integrated design team. Subject to planning approval this contract is expected to commence in January 2013 and conclude on completion of the New Build and Refurbishment of the existing building in winter 2013. Candidates are invited to submit a qualification application for this contract. The top 4 scoring Candidates will be invited to submit a tender, subject to the quality of submissions received.
