Endo Bronchial Ultra Sound EBUS Sussex (EBUS)

Tender description

Background Information The commissioners are looking to procure an EBUS service in Sussex. Currently lung cancer patients have to travel to London for this service. Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) uses an ultrasound mounted on a bronchoscope for use in the airways. An important aspect of EBUS is the facility to guide the collection of samples for fine needle aspiration cylology from extra luminal lesions and lymph nodes. Patients diagnosed at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals Trust and Worthing (Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust) will utilise this service. EUS services in Sussex have evolved since 2003 when the Sussex Cancer Network funded an EUS service in Brighton for patients with Oesophageal Cancer. There will be a 2 hour information session at 36-38 Friars Walk, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 2PB on 9th July 10.00-12.00. The event will give providers further context to the tender on the procurement process and provide an opportunity for questions and answers.
