Tender description

The BBC is looking to put in place a framework agreement for the supply of an extensive range of components including, but not limited to, the following broad range of product groups: electronic and electrical components, mechanical equipment and tools. The BBC reserves the right to extract and/or to subdivide the product categories listed below into smaller sub-categories: • Semi-conductor, passive and optoelectronic components, connectors and cables, transformers, power supplies and electro-static discharge handling. • Enclosures and fans, electrical installation, fuses, sockets and circuit breakers. • Mechanical products, equipment and tools: fasteners and fixings, health, safety, storage and security products, test and measurement equipment, power tools, pneumatic and hydraulic products, fluids, oils and greases. The aim of the framework is to provide access to a wide range of low value, high volume catalogue products, with emphasis on competitive pricing and value for money evidenced in excellent levels of customer service, stock availability and delivery, provided through a punchout website solution. The BBC requires that all products are generally available from stock, supported by appropriate inventory levels from a supplier(s) with proven experience of dealing with large multi-site organisations. A range of rapid delivery solutions will be required to all BBC premises across the UK, with next day delivery as a standard offering and inclusive within pricing of all products. The Purchasing of products will vary from small ad-hoc requirements through to larger quantities, as required, and be ordered across the UK via a punchout catalogue, managed by the successful Supplier(s). It is important for the successful Supplier(s) to embrace new technologies in e-Business solutions and not be resistant to change management requirements which may include 'indexing' i.e. to enable cross-catalogue searching, and changes to invoicing.
