DSD - Upgrade Of Lighting At Lagan Walkways (B2)

Tender description

The Contract is for the upgrade of the lighting installation on walkways adjacent to the river Lagan between Lagan Weir complex to Ormeau Bridge. The existing luminares shall be removed and the columns altered (where necessary). The column alterations to lamp posts currently servicing two or more luminaires shall require on site cutting and welding, to remove existing brackets and adapt the columns for a single post top lantern. There are approximately 350 existing lamp posts with 560 luminaires. New lanterns shall be LED type and finished to match the finish of the columns. The contract shall include for provision of bespoke manufacture of cast iron access panels to match the existing access panels on cast iron columns (where appropriate). The wiring and controls for the lighting system shall be replaced and upgraded throughout. The contract shall include for all trenching and making good all surfaces along the walkways, disturbed as a result of the works. The contract period shall be approximately 6 months from date of acceptance of the tender. The works will be in public walkways and in areas directly adjacent to the river. The contract shall include all necessary Health and safety measures accordingly. Closure of any of the walkways shall be kept to a minimum. The contract shall be subject to a Licence to Practice(LtP)scheme for electrical works. The electrical contractor shall be registered with the LtP scheme and NICEIC, ECA or equivalent third party accreditation body.
