DSD-Crumlin Rd Gaol- Re-roofing & Repairs to Stonework,Cell Wings & Link Blocks

Tender description

The Project is for the restoration of the existing roof and sympathetic repairs to the stonework elevations to the existing four cell wings and link blocks connecting them to the circle of Crumlin Road Gaol. The wings are 3 storeys in height. The work will include removing the existing natural slates, (salvaging the maximum number for re-use), repairs and partial replacement of the roof timbers, and re-slating the roofs together with associated lead flashings and replacement of the cast iron rainwater goods. Works to the walls includes extensive cutting out of damaged sandstone window surrounds and insertion of replacement stone indents, re-setting of copying stones and minor re-building. The building has a Grade 'A' listing therefore all the works are required to be agreed with NIEA prior to and during construction. The construction period is estimated at 14 months.
