Tender description

Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership Trust on behalf of its Drug Testing Services is inviting tenders for the screening of methadone, subutex, heroin, other opiates, amphetamines, benzodiazepines and cocaine as well as blood borne virus’s. The tender is broken down into 3 areas: 1. Oral fluid screening for the above drugs. We need to be able to collect the oral sample quickly and be able to test for the presence of drugs in the body on the day of presentation. 2. Urine screen for the metabolites of the above drugs. 3. Blood Borne virus screening for HIV, Hepatitis B & C In all cases the provider needs to be able to demonstrate the ability to provide a chain of custody option when necessary as well as offer the flexibility of testing for 1 drug or many depending on clinical need. The testing kits need to be quick and easy to use and prioritise infection control, confidentiality and be cost effective. The results need to be available within 3 working days with the opportunity to scrutinize any oral screen result further. There will need to be a clear reporting process for the results as well as management and financial reporting that is easily accessible and simple to use. We aim to commence the new contract on 1st Oct 2012. We intend to offer the successful provider a contract for 2yrs with the option of extending by a further two periods of 12 months.
