Tender description

Translink seeks a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled organisation to provide an independent 24/7 Drug and Alcohol Testing service. The service will include advice on appropriate testing technology and educational programs. The service provider will be required to manage and carry out an onsite unannounced screening program for drug and alcohol abuse and will also be required to provide a call-out service in the event of ‘for cause’ testing, e.g. where a vehicle has been involved in an incident. There may also be an occasional need to conduct unannounced and ‘for cause’ testing in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Testing must be undertaken using proven scientific means and under confidential ‘Chain of Custody’ arrangements. All laboratories used for analysis must hold appropriate UKAS accreditation or equivalent. The anticipated start date is June 2014. Dates may be subject to change.
