DRD - The Supply of Unmetered Electricity for Public Lighting in N. Ireland Roads Service is an executive Agency within the Department for Regional Development for Northern Ireland [DRD (NI)]. Roads Service is the sole road authority in Northern Ireland, responsible for just over 25,000 kilometres of public roads together with about 9,000 kilometres of footways, 5,800 bridges, 265,000 street lights, 18,500 illuminated traffic signs and 370 public car parks. The main functions of Roads Service are to ensure that the public road network is managed, maintained, developed in a safe and efficient way. Roads Services’ function includes the provision, operation and maintenance of street lighting and traffic signs throughout Northern Ireland. Roads Service are seeking an electricity supplier with accreditation for unmetered supplies in Northern Ireland to provide electricity for their public lighting including street lights, traffic signals and carparks. And as such: Tenderers must hold accreditation for unmetered electricity supplies in Northern Ireland. Tenderers must provide a written guarantee that a minimum of 10% of the electricity supplied is from a renewable source.
