Tender description
The purpose of this contract is to provide for the installation of new and replacement of defective elements of the traffic monitoring arrays, laid into slots in the carriageway surface together with all ancillary repairs. The works may include but not be limited to the following, which are provided by way of example: A Slot cutting, preparation and backfilling B Cable Ducting and Trenching C Cabling and Jointing D Extraction of existing array elements E Loop detector installation F Reinstatement G Site Inspection and Testing H Associated Traffic Control Measures I Out of hours working J Supply Only Items K Install Only Items L Remove Only Items M Traffic Management Many of the work activities to be carried out under the Contracts will require the economic operator to employ and use skilled personnel and specialist equipment and resources associated with such work activities. Within the Contract, the economic operator will be required to carry out any such works instructed by a Works Order issued under the provisions of the contract. Such works will require a standard of works delivery consistent with that defined in the Tender Documents. Reimbursement to the economic operator for such works will be paid to the economic operator generally on the basis of applicable rates and prices. Details of the contracts pricing mechanisms will be provided in the Tender Documents. Within the Contract Area, it is likely that the economic operator will be required to work at more than one location at any one time to meet the requirements of Roads Service programme of works for the Contract Area. The economic operator will be expected to have sufficiently skilled and available resources necessary to meet the requirements of such programme and will be required to include in his rates and prices for the inevitable peaks and troughs that will be inherent in any such programme.
