Tender description
This contract involves the on-line widening of the existing carriageway to provide two traffic lanes in each direction with the provision of a 3 metre wide shared footway / cycleway along both sides. Additional widening will be necessary at junctions to provide full right turn lanes. In addition, the Steelstown Road and Earhart Park junctions will be signalised, incorporating pedestrian and cyclist crossing facilities. New carriageway drainage and street lighting are to be provided. The scheme is 1.2km long and low level stone faced retaining walls will be constructed at the back of the footway / cycleway in the cut section.
