Tender description

The works involve construction of 7.3m wide single carriageway, 2.0km in length with 1.5m cycle paths, 0.5m hard-strips, 2.0m footpaths and 2.0m grass verges including 4 roundabouts over the length of the scheme. 0.5km of the total 2.0km scheme is to be constructed along the existing Cherrymount Link with 6m of local widening to be constructed to the northern side. The works include substantial earthworks (maximum cut 4m & fill 5.2m), 12-18 month embankment consolidation time, wick drainage up to 15m depth, peat and soft clay ground improvement, retaining structures and two steel footbridges (24m and 21m spans). Ancillary works include fencing, road restraint systems, drainage, road markings, road signs and landscaping. The following service utilities shall be affected by the scheme: Street Lighting, NIE, British Telecom, and NI Water.
