DRD ROADS SERVICE - A2 Belfast Road Bangor, Resurfacing and Cycling Measures

Tender description

The Resurfacing of approximately 18000m2 of carriageway consisting of:- 13700m2 of carriageway overlay depth 100mm. 1400m2 of milling to a depth of 100mm. 2900m2 of milling to a depth of 50mm on the A2 Belfast Road, Bangor. The construction will consist of a Binder Course of AC 20 dense bin 40/60 rec 55mm thick and a Surface Course of HRA 35/14 F surf 40/60 laid 45mm thick. An additional 3000m2 of resurfacing on hard shoulder, lay-bys and crossovers will be required. This will comprise of a Regulating Course laid 30mm thick with HRA 50/10 , the Surface Course to be HRA 35/14 F surf 40/60 laid 45mm thick. Associated works will involve the removal and installation of approximately 4000 linear metres of road kerbs, the construction of approximately 1300m2 of footway, and the relocation of 90 number gullies to be recessed at the edge of the carriageway. Works also include 50m2 of Green High Friction Surfacing (Type 3) on the footway and 1100 m2 of Buff High Friction Surfacing (Type 1) on the carriageway.
