Drainage Works to Relieve Flooding at Mitre Bridge Industrial Estate

Installation of gully to the front of Unit 8 where water is pooling to the lowest point in this area connecting to the existing surface water drainage system approx. 20m away. • To attend site during normal working hours, erect barrier and signage to create a safe working environment. • With use of a floor saw, cut a trench from the current surface water gully in the roadway between Units 7-8 at approx. 20 linier meters to the parking bays where new gully is to be installed. • Breakout to an approx. depth of 400mm disposing of all spoils into a skip. • Install 110mm underground drainage pipe along the 20m connecting to existing surface water gully. • Back fill trench with pea shingle to cover underground pipe, then to lay a type 1 MOT compacted down leaving approx. 100mm below surface. • Install new gully chamber and grate on a fresh bedding compound at the shallowest point where water is pooling. This is to be set on a fresh bedding compound with concrete margins installed. • Install a DBM base course at a depth of approx. 60mm. • Install bitumen tack coat and lay 10m2 of 6mm SMA Tarmac at an approx. depth of 40mm. • Upon completion area to be left clean and tidy.
