DoJ POSD PROVISION OF A SERVICE TO OPEN & CLOSE INTERFACE AREA SECURITY GATES

Tender description

The Department of Justice (DoJ) has responsibility for Northern Ireland’s constitutional and security issues, in particular law and order, political affairs, policing and criminal justice. Part of its responsibility on security matters is the maintenance and control of a number of security structures at Interface areas. These consist of walls, fences and gates; the purpose of which is to provide security for the surrounding communities. This specification is for the service provision to open and close the security gates in interface areas. The gates are opened and closed at regular hours to facilitate the needs of the local community. Within the DoJ, Protection and Organised Crime Division is responsible for the maintenance and control of the gates at Interface areas. The Contract will be for gates at the following Belfast locations*: On Townsend Street - vehicle and pedestrian gates On Workman Avenue close to Springfield Road - pedestrian gate On North Howard Street close to Falls Road - vehicle gates On Northumberland Street close to Falls Road - vehicle & pedestrian gates * Additional gates may be added during the lifetime of the contract. Service Requirements / Deliverables The successful applicant will be required to open and close the security gates at: Townsend Street – closed at 1730hrs , reopened at 0700hrs, Monday to Friday. Workman Avenue – closed at 2000hrs (2100hrs in Summer), reopened at 0700hrs, Daily North Howard Street – closed at 1830hrs, reopened at 0730 hrs, Monday to Saturday. Northumberland Street – closed at 1830hrs, reopened at 0730hrs, Monday to Saturday. Where appropriate, companies should be aware of their obligations under the Private Security Industry Act 2001
