DOJ - Northern Ireland Prison Service Waste Management Contract

Tender description

The Central Procurement Directorate (CPD), on behalf Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) intends to establish a Contract for the collection and disposal of domestic and non-domestic waste within their defined compounds. NIPS is an Executive agency of the Department of Justice as of 12 April 2010. The Northern Ireland Prison Service currently operates under the control of the Department of Justice. It is governed by the Prison Act (Northern Ireland) 1953 and the Prison and Young Offenders Rules (Northern Ireland) 1995. There are three Prisons in Northern Ireland which compromise HMP Maghaberry and HMP Magilligan which accommodate adult male prisoners and Hydebank Wood Prison and Young Offenders Centre (YOC) which accommodates both Young Offenders and Adult female prisoners. The daily prisoner population within the NI Prisons can be assessed via the following link: http://www.niprisonservice.gov.uk/module.cfm/opt/8/area/Poulation/page/population Additional information about NIPS is available via: www.niprisonservice.gov.uk The aim of the Contract is to ensure that a waste disposal service will include the supply and emptying of skips and Roll on Roll off (RORO) or hook lift type container at HMP Maghaberry, HMP Magilligan, HM YOC Hydebank, the Prisoner Assessment Unit on the Crumlin Road in Belfast and Prison Service College. No further site visits will be arranged after this date.
