Tender description

The Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) is an Executive Agency of the Department of Justice (DoJ). It has a responsibility to hold in secure and humane confinement persons who have been given into custody by the Courts. NIPS now wish to establish a contract, with a suitably experienced service provider, for the provision of 20 temporary workers to fill short term vacancies identified by NIPS. All appointments must be in full compliance with the Agency Workers (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2011 and all other relevant legislation. The Contractor must, as an ‘Employment Business’ be fully compliant with the Employment (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 and the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005. Central Procurement Directorate and the NIPS reserve the right to consult with the Department for Employment and Learning’s Employment Agency Inspectorate on all matters of compliance. The Contractor will be required to search and select suitable candidates for the vacant posts which have been identified by NIPS demonstrating equality and opportunity and providing continuity of supply for all identified job requirements made by the Client. NIPS currently have a requirement for the provision of 20 temporary workers with 12 staff being deployed to Laganside Courts in Belfast and eight staff being deployed on a daily basis to whichever court location is deemed appropriate.
