Tender description
DoJ Legal Needs Research for Children and Young Persons The overall aim of the research is to enable the Legal Services Commission to inform itself about the need for legal services in Northern Ireland, as required under section 6 of the Access to Justice (NI) Order 2003. The research must focus on legal needs and legal remedies for children and young persons and should therefore clearly define what a legal need and a legal remedy is in the first instance when undertaking the research with participants. In addition to consulting directly with key stakeholders in the private, voluntary, community and public sector the Service Providers will be required: -to engage directly with children and young people in order to gather their views and input on the research’s objectives. -to ensure that any and all ideas put forward by those consulted during the research are included in the research and addressed, where necessary, when considering the potential future mechanisms for meeting the identified legal needs of children and young people in Northern Ireland. The anticipated award date is w/c 13th May 2013.The proposal must contain a clear and realistic timetable demonstrating how the evaluation will be delivered within the required deadline i.e. 18 November 2013 Interim findings to Department of Justice, Public Legal Services Division by 8 September 2013; and A Final Report (electronic copy is sufficient) presented to Department of Justice, Public Legal Services Division on or before 18th November 2013. The Service Provider will be expected to attend the Justice Committee and present their report on a date to be agreed.
