Compensation Services is a branch within the Department of Justice and was Formerly known as the Compensation Agency. It was established on 1st April 2013 following a strategic review of the services provided by the Agency. It administers five statutory compensation schemes in Northern Ireland for criminal injuries, criminal damage and actions taken under the Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Act 2007. Our aim is to support victims of crime and people who have suffered loss from actions under the Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Act 2007. This is the specification of the service required from the Adjuster by Compensation Services in carrying out loss adjusting on Compensation Services behalf in respect of criminal damage claims. The Adjuster in carrying out this service will exercise a high level of professional skill in line with recognised best practice and take into account the relevant legislation to ensure that fair and reasonable amounts of compensation are arrived at. The Adjuster, his employees and agents, shall at all times act in a courteous, polite and professional manner.
