Tender description
It is essential that the legislative and policy frameworks are in place for 1st April 2015 to ensure that councils, departments and community planning partners can take forward their community planning duties set out in the Local Government Act 2014. The Local Government Act 2014 specifies that councils will initiate the process, Departments will promote and encourage community planning and have regard to community plans in exercising their functions, and statutory partners will be required to participate in the process. Sub-ordinate legislation will name the statutory partners. Consequently the Department must ensure that statutory guidance is prepared and ready for use by councils on 1st April 2015, and that statutory community planning partners are identified in sub-ordinate legislation, also to be in place by 1st April 2015.
