(DOE)NIEA WMU – Provision of Laboratory Analysis for Groundwater Monitoring

Tender description

The Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) is an Agency within the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland. The NIEA Water Management Unit (WMU) is one of the functional units within the Agency with particular responsibility for protection of the aquatic environment. The analysis of both biological and chemical elements is a statutory requirement under the European Water Framework Directive (WFD) as they are used to designate the ecological and chemical quality status of a given waterbody. WMU is seeking to appoint a competent Contractor to undertake the analysis and reporting of results, against a suite of analytical requirements for freshwater samples. The analyses are required to enable NIEA to comply with relevant Legislation/Regulations/EU Directives and UK National Programmes. The closing date for the return of tenders is no later than 3pm Tuesday 3rd April 2012. The closing date for requests for further information relating to the contract documents is no later than 3 pm 28th March 2012 Under no circumstances will late tenders be considered, nor is CPD obliged to accept the lowest or any bid.
