Project Description NIEA wish to establish a contract for the provision of technical user support within the NHD. The focus will primarily be in the GIS arena where two individual software systems are in operation:- • ArcGIS is the mainstream GIS in operation within NIEA and much of the primary NHD spatial data is created and disseminated using this software package: ArcGIS software is owned and licensed by the Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (Esri). The NIEA currently operates an Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) with ESRI. • Maps in Action (MIA) GIS has successfully operated within NIEA from the early 1990’s and many present day NHD targets rely on its continued operational service: MIA software is owned and licensed by the Trapeze Group Ltd.
