Project_2701/ ITT _4958 DHSSPS and NI Prison Service – Evaluation of the transfer of Prison Healthcare Services Central Procurement Directorate on behalf of its client the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) and NI Prison Service wishes to invite tenders for the provision of the above services. Responsibility for the provision of prison healthcare services transferred from the Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) to the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) on 1st April 2008. As part of the agreement covering the transfer of responsibility, DHSSPS and NIPS undertook to carry out a joint evaluation of the transfer to consider what benefits had been realised. The evaluation will focus on the transfer of responsibility, and consider what benefits have been realised as a result. The review will seek and consider the views of those involved in negotiating the transfer of responsibility and other stakeholders including the HSC Board, South Eastern HSC Trust and Prison Healthcare staff.
