DETI - Airborne Geophysical Survey 2011

Tender description

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) Geological Survey of Northern Ireland (GSNI), requires a high resolution airborne geophysical survey to be undertaken over parts of the six northern counties of the Republic of Ireland (RoI) in 2011. This survey is part of the Tellus Border project financed by the INTERREG IVA programme of the European Regional Development Fund. The survey will be managed by the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland. The Tellus Border airborne geophysical survey will be flown over parts of the six northern counties of the republic of Ireland, counties Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth. The objective of the airborne survey is to provide high quality data for geological mapping, resources assessment and environmental management. Integrated with the existing Tellus data of NI, the data will contribute to the promotion of mineral exploration and to cross-border environmental research and management in the fields of hydrogeology, soil-carbon/peat inventory, natural and anthropogenic radioactivity, radon risk, geo-hazards, and mapping of pollution plumes.
