Design, Manufacture and Supply of Autoballast Wagons to NIR

Tender description

Design, Manufacture and Supply of Autoballast Wagons to NIR Translink intend to appoint a competent contractor to design, manufacture and supply twelve Autoballast wagons to NIR to replace the existing manually operated fleet. The wagons must be delivered by the Supplier to an NIR Depot in the Greater Belfast area. Suppliers should be aware that Autoballast wagons shall be subject to Northern Ireland Railways vehicle acceptance testing. The Autoballast wagons should comply with Irish gauge (1600mm) and Northern Ireland Railways loading gauge profile. It is expected that the successful tenderer for this Project will be awarded a contract during Autumn 2010. The design and manufacture period for the12No. vehicles is expected to be from January 2011 until November 2011. The completed vehicles must be delivered to Belfast no later than December 2011. Additional Services to include, but not limited to:- • Manufacturers warranty period of one year to commence from date of acceptance by Northern Ireland Railways. • Supplier to provide major services for a period of three years from date of acceptance by Northern Ireland Railways. • Comprehensive training to be provided by the Supplier for Translink operatives • Supply of maintenance and operation manuals for the Autoballast Wagons. • Full mechanical test certification to be supplied for the Autoballast wagons. Responses must be submitted before: 15:00 hours on Monday 7th June 2010. Translink is utilising an electronic tendering system to manage this procurement and communicate with Tenderers. Accordingly, there will be no hard copy documents issued and it is intended that all communications with Translink including the submission of PQQ and Tender responses will be conducted via www.e-sourcingni.bravosolution.co.uk.
