DE - The Production of a Digital Media Resource for Disability Awareness

The Department of Education (DE) requires the production of a digital media resource to support the proposed revised Special Educational Needs (SEN) policy. An aim of the revised policy is that the educational needs of all children with SEN should be addressed and that they should be integrated fully and accepted by all on an equal basis. In support of this and in order to promote cultural change with a focus on celebrating diversity, DE is to resource a digital media project that will address the behaviours and attitudes that result in discrimination. Target audiences will include children, parents, teachers and auxiliary staff and boards of governors (BOGs). Due to the broad audience the resource will be required to reach, the end product will need to be made available in various digital formats such as on-line for teachers, DVD for Boards of Governors and training event use and apps for children and parents. Note the DVD will have an estimated run time of 5 – 10 minutes.
