Tender description

The Contract is for the provision of a complete design and project management service to take forward the Project from initiation of the brief through to post occupancy evaluation of the completed works (including defects correction period). The consultant team will be expected to include all professional disciplines necessary to provide the complete service. This Contract is in 3 Parts. Part 1 - Stage 1 – Preparation; Part 2 - Stage 2 – Scheme Design; Stage 3 – Works Information; Part 3- Stage 4 – Procurement of Works Contractor; Stage 5 – Construction Phase; Stage 6 – Handover and Post Construction Period. Part 1 includes a review of the Employer’s economic appraisal and outline Business Case. If the Business Case is successful and the Employer receives approval from the Department of Education for capital expenditure the Project will proceed to Part 2. If not, the Project will terminate at the end of Part 1 (refer to MOI-Part A, Section 6 para 7). Part 2 is required for the Employer to establish an accurate value for grant aid funding from the Department of Education. If the Employer receives approval from the Department of Education to the requested level of funding the Project will proceed to Part 3. If not, the Project will terminate at the end of Part 2 (refer to MOI-Part A, Section 6 para 7). The Works Project at Maine Integrated Primary School is the upgrade and extension of the existing facilities and accommodation to address the inadequacies in the existing accommodation identified in a recent condition survey at the school, and provide new accommodation in line with the DE Schedule of Accommodation for a 5-class primary school. The new facilities will include • a modular 160m2 Multi-Purpose Hall, • a 165m2 modular unit containing offices and group spaces, • a 160m2 double classroom modular unit. Some existing redundant modular units will be removed as part of the contract.
