Tender description

The Contract is for the provision of a complete design and project management service to take forward the Project from initiation of the brief through to post occupancy evaluation of the completed works (including defects correction period). The Consultant’s team will be expected to include all professional disciplines necessary to provide the complete service. This Contract is in 3 Parts. Part 1 - Stage 1 – Preparation; Part 2 - Stage 2 – Scheme Design; Stage 3 – Works Information; Part 3 - Stage 4 – Procurement of Works Contractor; Stage 5 – Construction Phase; Stage 6 – Handover and Post Construction Period. Part 1 includes a review of the Employer’s economic appraisal and outline Business Case. If the Business Case is successful and the Employer receives approval from the Department of Education for capital expenditure the Project will proceed to Part 2. If not, the Project will terminate at the end of Part 1 (refer to MOI-Part A, Section 6 para 7). Part 2 is required for the Employer to establish an accurate value for grant aid funding from the Department of Education. If the Employer receives approval from the Department of Education to the requested level of funding the Project will proceed to Part 3. If not, the Project will terminate at the end of Part 2 (refer to MOI-Part A, Section 6 para 7). The Project is the demolition of the existing Sports Hall accommodation and its replacement with a new-build Sports Hall, and associated support accommodation (total floor area circa 1,160m2), and the upgrading and remodelling of existing accommodation to form a Drama Classroom provision (total floor area circa 240m2). The work will provide: •Sports Hall @ 440 m2 •Sports Hall Equipment Store @ 28 m2 •Sports Hall Floor Covering Store @ 15 m2 •Examination desk & chair store @ 27 m2 •Office @ 13 m2 •Fitness Activity Area @ 100 m2 •5 No Changing/Shower Spaces each 61 m2 •2 No Staff Changing/Shower Spaces each 11 m2
