Tender description

This research aims to explore in more detail the barriers to engaging in culture, arts and leisure and to explore themes that DCAL is unable to gain from surveys alone. As such, the research is qualitative and will have two parts: • Focus groups with individuals living in poverty; and • Interviews with community groups based in deprived areas. There are three questions in the research. The research aims to answer: 1. What are the barriers to engaging in culture, arts and leisure for people living in poverty? 2. What initiatives could DCAL and its ALBs deliver to increase engagement in culture, arts and leisure for people living in poverty? 3. What are the attitudes of people living in poverty to various initiatives being run or planned to being run by DCAL to tackle poverty through culture, arts and leisure?
