Northern Ireland Screen operates a number of funding programmes which are designed to develop the cultural, educational and economic value of film, television and digital media product. These funds offer a range of development and production loans to film, television and digital production companies. There is also financial support for screen related festivals such as the Belfast Film Festival; cultural venues like the QFT and community access centres such as Northern Visions. Northern Ireland Screen’s education strategy is designed to ensure that children understand the importance of the screen industries in Northern Ireland and there has been a great deal of work undertaken over the years to ensure that this is now imbedded in the school curriculum. The Northern Ireland Screen Commission requires a service provider to provide a legal services function including the execution of Development and Production Finance Agreements, Deed of Charge, Side Letters, and Undertakings in relation to its Lottery Film Fund, Screen Fund, Ulster Scots Broadcast Fund and Irish Language Broadcast Fund.
