DARD Rivers Agency and DRD TransportNI - Supply of Ready Mix Concrete and Mortar

Tender description

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Northern Ireland, Rivers Agency and The Department for Regional Development Northern Ireland, Transport NI wish to award a multi-supplier framework contract for the supply of ready mix concrete and mortar. Rivers Agency require delivery of materials to construction works sites within defined zones throughout Northern Ireland. Transport NI require delivery of material to its specified depot locations within Northern Ireland. The departments may collect material from contractors premises when appropriate. Concrete supplied shall comply with the requirements of the current BS 8500 – 2 “Concrete – Complementary British Standard to BS EN 206-1 Part 2: Specification for constituent materials and concrete”. Mortars shall comply with the current BS EN 998: Parts 1 and 2. Products shall also comply with the relevant clauses of the Department of Transport (DoT) Specification for Highway Works: Clause 1001-1005 Road Pavements Concrete Materials Clause 1030 Wet Lean Concrete Clause 1701 Structural Concrete General Clause 1702 Structural Concrete Constituent Materials Clause 1703 Structural Concrete Exposure Classes Clause 1704 Structural Concrete General Requirements Clause 1705 Structural Concrete Requirements for Designed Mixes Clause 1706 Structural Concrete Production Clause 1707 Structural Concrete Conformity and Identity Testing Clause 2404 Mortar Clause 2601 Miscellaneous Bedding Mortars Clause 2602 Miscellaneous Concrete for Ancillary Purposes Where any DoT Specification clause listed is in conflict with BS 8500 or BS EN 998 the former shall prevail.
