DARD - Framework Agreement for the Welding Maintenance of AFBI Farm Buildings

The Framework Agreement is for a Contractor to provide a Welding service to allow for the maintenance of various building and yards within the confines of the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) property at the following sites; • AFBI Hillsborough, Large Park, Hillsborough, Down, BT26 6DR. • AFBI Stormont Veterinary Laboratory, AFBI Stormont, Stoney Road, Belfast. BT4 3SD. • AFBI Loughgall, Armagh BT61 8JB • AFBI Crossnacreevy, 50 Houston Road, Crossnacreevy, Castlereagh, Belfast, BT6 9SH. • AFBI Omagh Veterinary Laboratory, 43 Beltany Road, Coneywarren, Omagh BT78 5NF. • AFBI Newforge, 18a Newforge Lane, Belfast. BT9 5PX. A definitive list of buildings to be maintained will be provided at Tender stage. The service to be carried out under this Welding Maintenance Framework Agreement will be done so through the issue of Task Orders. An individual Task Order will be issued by the Service Manager complete with a description of the service involved for items of welding works as they arise on site. The Economic Operator’s team of operatives must be highly skilled in all types of site welding, steel fabrication and steel erection and hold a minimum of; • Level 3 NVQ city & guilds accrediation in Fabrication and Welding Engineering or equivalent • Or have a minimum of 7 years post apprenticeship experience. The Economic Operator is to be certified by third party Inspection Body or Personnel Certification Body, for example The Welding Institute, with a specialty in welding and operate within the ISO standards on welder qualification (ISO 9606).
