Tender description

CAFRE has a requirement for the provision of a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to provide controlled access to student learning and assessment materials. The VLE is to enable CAFRE to deliver distance learning programmes and to meet the needs of those students who, assessed under the Special Educational Needs and Disability (NI) Order 2005 (SENDO), require learning and assessment materials to be provided in an easily accessible format. In this current academic year, the system supports approximately 750 courses with almost 2000 users (1700 students and 300 staff). The College has targets to increase the use of the VLE by providing more learning materials online. The proposed solution should be a commercial off the shelf (COTS) application. The contract will be for an initial period of 5 years with an option to extend annually for a further 5 years.
