CSSC - Review of the Controlled Schools' Support Council

Tender description

On 6th October 2014 the Minister of Education established a Working Group, the objective of which was to develop the Controlled Sector Support Body. During this period the Group has worked to put arrangements in place so that the Support Body might be operational at the earliest opportunity. The Group has registered the Body as a company limited by guarantee with the intention it would later acquire charitable status, devised its governance arrangements, established its vision, values and ethos, examined its role and developed an organisational structure with appropriate staffing to deliver this role. Work has now reached the stage which would allow the CSSC to become operational. Before that occurs the Department of Education has requested an independent assessment of the proposed role and organisational structure of the CSSC. The overall aim of the review is to conduct an independent assessment of the proposed role and organisational structure of the Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) to ensure that it is able to undertake its functions as agreed by the Executive on 9th September 2014 and outlined by the Minister of Education in the Assembly in October 2014.
