The City invites Tenders for the provision of Concrete Testing & Minor Repairs for Middlesex Street Estate, London E1. The project comprises of: A condition survey of the concrete to determine the extent and cause of any deterioration to the concrete. Removal of any loose concrete that is at risk of falling. Completion of any immediately necessary repairs. Concrete damage has been observed, some of it associated with reinforcement corrosion. It is important to determine whether there are any cast in chlorides in the buildings subject to this survey as well as to determine the extent of diffused in chlorides, carbonation depths and cover depths so that the rate of deterioration can be estimated and the best concrete repair and corrosion control systems are applied. The contractor will carry out a condition survey to determine the extent and cause of deterioration and produce a bill of quantities for repair using the Concrete Repair Association Standard Method of Measurement for Concrete Repair Section 5 Specimen Bill of Quantities. A separate Repair Bill of Quantities shall be produced for each Building. The works will comply with all appropriate UK legislation and regulation relating to concrete testing, repair and reporting.
