Community and Voluntary Sector Mentoring

Tender description

Carrickfergus Borough Council is currently seeking submissions from suitably qualified Contractors for the provision of services to Community Groups and Voluntary Sectors in the Borough. The aims of this service is: To represent the needs and aspirations of the community and voluntary sector of Carrickfergus, To build the capacity of the community and voluntary sector in Carrickfergus; To maintain and disseminate a detailed knowledge of the issues and structures, including political, that are relevant and unique to the Borough;To ensure effective communications between the community and voluntary, private and statutory sectors in the Borough; To facilitate the implementation of actions arising from relevant plans and strategies such as the Carrickfergus Good Relations Strategy, Mapping Meaningful Solutions and the Police and Community Safety Partnership Action Plan;To identify gaps in support to the citizens of Carrickfergus and support the development of new groups where applicable to address these gaps; To ensure effective governance of all community and voluntary groups in the Borough; To provide relevant training to the community sector To provide support to the community sector on the attainment of central government grants and other funding streams; To provide Council with detailed knowledge of the community sector within the Borough, relevant issues for the sector and provide options for potential solutions to these issues;To work with key council personnel in a team environment;To facilitate Carrickfergus Borough Council’s community planning process; To provide an outreach facility to connect with all elements of the community sector; To minimise duplication of service.
