Tender description

NIE owns the regulated electricity transmission and distribution network in Northern Ireland through which it distributes electricity to approximately 850,000 customers. It is responsible for the planning, development, construction and maintenance of the entire network as well as the control and operation of the distribution network. Lot 1 - Data Protection. NIE wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and competent Consultant to provide advice based on the latest GB and EU legislation NIE has an established Data Protection Forum to focus on the exchange, analysis and communication of information on all matters relating to the protection of personal information and compliance with Data Protection. Lot 2 - IT Security. NIE has outsourced the delivery of IT, telephony and other telecommunication services, which are provided through managed service contracts with third parties. This includes the operational aspects of IT security. NIE has a requirement for IT Security advisors to provide expert advice and support services to the NIE IT Security Officer, independently of the managed service contracts.
