Tender description

Northern Ireland Water invites tenders for:- 2.2.1 The services are split into 2 Lots:- a) Lot 1 – Sludge transport services b) Lot 2 – WTW residuals disposal and associated services 2.2.2 The services requirement is as follows:- Lot 1 – Sludge transport services a) Collection, transportation and discharge of wastewater treatment works (WwTW) liquid sludge (typically 1-8% dry solids content) from WwTWs to Thickening Centres/ Dewatering Centres “Reception Centres”. These Reception Centres are primarily managed by NI Water however some are managed by Public Private Partnership “PPP” Contractors; b) Collection and transportation of WwTW sludge cake (typically 22-28% dry solids content) from Reception Centres for incineration at “PPP” managed sites; c) Discharging collected liquid sludge and sludge cake through NI Water’s sludge logging system “SLS”; d) Any other sludge transport related services; Lot 2 – WTW residuals disposal and associated services a) Collection, transportation and final disposal of WTW residuals (sludge cake typically 22% to 28% dry solids content) from WTWs. For information only purposes copies of the Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) analysis is attached to this PQQ as Appendix 5; b) Collection, transportation and discharge of WTWs liquid sludge (range from 2% to 12% dry solids content) between WTWs for de-watering; c) Dewatering and disposal in the event of a plant failure. d) Any other water treatment residuals disposal or WTW liquid sludge transport related services.
