Tender description

NI Water invites tenders for Positional Improvement. Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland (OSNI) completed a programme of work in 2013 to redress the positional inconsistencies in their large scale vector map dataset and this has resulted in a new positionally improved map dataset. As the majority of the water and sewer data in NI Water’s Corporate Asset Register (CAR) is mapped relative to the pre-positionally improved maps it is therefore now displaying in the wrong position. In order to utilise the new maps and subsequent map updates (e.g. new housing and road layouts), NI Water will need to shift asset data (e.g. water mains, sewers and their associated fixtures and fittings and operational boundaries) captured with relative accuracy in line with the shift in the new background maps across the full 17,335 map tiles covering Northern Ireland in order to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of its assets. A managed service using an automated solution is required to shift NI Water asset data (points, lines and polygons) as per the volumes stated in the ITT documents. The service must include data analysis and planning; input and advice on, and accommodation of data rules; rehearsals; automated data transformation; quality assurance; and reinstatement to a replica instance of the NI Water Oracle Spatial 11g R2 production database on a NI Water server.
