Tender description

Ballymena Bus & Railway Stations are located on the same site off the Galgorm Road, Ballymena which is one of the arterial routes into the town centre. The stations are situated within walking distance to the town centre and are separated by the main entrance into the Bus Station which is used by buses, fuel delivery vehicles, taxis and staff and public cars. It also facilitates access to the railway station for passenger drop off and pick up. The existing Bus Station is a 2 storey facing brick building which does not present a good first impression to passengers or members of the public. The existing layout of the building is somewhat awkward in that the passenger waiting area is located towards the rear of the building with no visibility of the bus stands. The public entrance into the waiting area is via an alleyway between the building and the boundary wall. The Economic Operator shall provide the following Services • Architect (Lead Designer) • NEC3 (ECC) Project Manager and Supervisor • Civil & Structural Engineering Services • Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Services • BREEAM Assessor/Advisor • CDM Co-ordinator / Principal Designer The estimated conceptual construction value is approximately within the range £5million to £6million. This cost is purely a conceptual estimate prepared during the Inception Stage and should not be used to base any future fees on.
