Tender description

Translink wish to appoint an Economic Operator to undertake works in relation to the construction of Park & Ride car parking facilities adjacent to Whiteabbey Train Station. Part of the site was previously occupied by a school and the other section is currently used as a Park & Ride area. The project involves the combination these two areas to create a Park & Ride facility providing 55 car parking spaces, facilities for parking 12 bicycles and an area for parking up to 5 motorcycles. The area is to be appropriately lit and serviced by CCTV surveillance. The work required by to be completed by September 2015 and includes: • demolition of the old school building and associated services and fencing; • provision of drainage including by-pass separator; • installation of raised kerbed area including fence and crash barrier (along the train platform); • provision of street lighting and CCTV systems; • excavation for and construction of asphalt road pavement to include scarifying and placement of surface course to existing car parking area.
