Tender description

The Service comprises the provision of appropriate levels of care commensurate with identified and agreed needs to patients of 18 years and over in their homes. Providers are to provide a 24 hour service Monday to Sunday inclusive (including all national bank holidays) at the times specified by the Plan of Care in order to meet the Patient’s requirements. Providers are required to manage a number of care packages for patients with complex care needs, which require an adequate bank of trained and experienced Care Workers. Sleep in Duty, (2300hrs to 0700hrs) where the Provider’s Staff are required to sleep at the patient’s home: this shall include being woken on up to three separate occasions, to a maximum of 30 minutes each, or a total of 1 hour 30 minutes. Waking Night Service, (2300hrs to 0700hrs) where Provider’s Staff are required to be awake on duty throughout the night. Live in Service 24/7, where the providers staff are required to live in the patients home: for a minimum of 7 days and maximum of 21 days, they will be entitled to 2 -3 hours break each afternoon, a 12 hour day would be the maximum. Rapid Response Service, where the Provider shall complete a Risk Assessment and commence service on the same day as receiving an instruction from NHS Bedfordshire. The Provider shall accept telephoned or faxed instructions from NHS Bedfordshire that will include details of services required, known risks or hazards and start/end dates and times. The Provider must ensure the availability of suitable capacity seven days a week between the hours of 0700hrs and 2300hrs for all patients
