Tender description

The BBC is conducting a competitive procurement for the provision of BBC Property Rates Valuation Services in accordance with the Restricted Procedure under the Public Contract Regulations 2006. The main requirements are for the following:- - Minimize the BBC’s annual Rates liability thereby increasing the amount of licence fee money available for making programmes/content. - Deliver fast, accurate, up to date reliable and relevant Rates information to BBC management - Organising payments and appeals on behalf of the BBC - To therefore enable the BBC to more effectively focus on its purpose, values and output The BBC’s UK portfolio comprises approximately 334 legal interests including approximately 154 buildings/locations and 58 MAD’s (Masts/Aerials/Dishes) spread over 5.1 million Square feet (474,000 square meters) of space. The portfolio ranges from complex sites such as network production centres, network studios and regional centres to very small premises such as inject points and ISDN lines in addition to the above mentioned masts, aerials, satellite dishes. The majority of space is in London and 6 main regional centres around the UK in Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast, Salford, Bristol, and Birmingham. The rest of the space being associated with a network of local radio stations and their outstations plus a smaller number of regional television “opt-outs”. The current total rateable value of this portfolio is in the order of approx. £33 million.
