Tender description

It is an objective of The Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to provide improved information to consumers. As part of this, there is a need to secure evidence to understand better the impacts of a change in the information requirements stemming from new ‘EU Regulation 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers’ (EU FIC), on both consumers and businesses. This work will support two of Defra’s Food Chain Evidence Programme objectives; to ‘Increase confidence in food and availability of accurate food information to the consumer and ‘Increasing competitiveness, productivity and economic growth in the food and drink sector’.
