B916 – Provision of Grounds Maintenance Services

Tender description

The sole reason for this PQQ is to notify suitably qualified and experienced companies of a tender opportunity for Grounds Maintenance services which will be published in September or October 2015. (Please ignore the response form within the qualification envelope). NIE have an on-going requirement for Grounds Maintenance Services for its many facilities throughout Northern Ireland. The current contract expires on the 31st March 2016. The new contract will commence 1st April 2016 preceded by an estimated 4 week safety training period. The requirement in general shall comprise the following elements: - Lots 1, 2, 3, 5 & 6 Perimeter security checking, General safety checking, Weed Control, Litter removal, Graffiti Removal, Grass Cutting, and Hedge & Vegetation Control. Lots 4 & 6 The provision of Gritting/Salting of premises and the clearing of access points (when required). The requirement for Grounds Maintenance Services will be divided into 6 lots. NIE reserves the right (entirely at its own discretion) to award by any of the following options:- Option 1 4 Lots Lot 1, Lot 2, Lot 3 and Lot 4 Option 2 2 Lots Lot 4 and Lot 5 Option 3 1 Lot Lot 6 NIE will choose whichever option offers the greatest opportunity to deliver costs and efficiency savings. In anticipation of NIE deciding on any of the above options, and in order to mitigate the risk of being excluded from the competition for not participating in a required Lot, tenderers are encouraged to compete for all Lots. Contracts resulting from this competition will be awarded for 3 years with the option to extend for 2 further 12 months periods. The option to extend will be at the sole discretion of NIE.
