Aurora Programme: Systems Delivery & Integration Services

Tender description

The BBC intends to appoint a Framework of suppliers to provide Systems Delivery and Integration Services. The required services will be divided in to two separate Lots: System Design, Build and Integration (Lot 1) combines Application Project Management; Application Design; Application Development; Application Integration; Application Testing; Data Management; Reporting; Data Quality; Service Introduction; Application Enhancement and Maintenance; Application Security; and third Party Commodity Software and Supporting Services for bespoke internal facing BBC systems. The delivered bespoke systems will be hosted and operated by the BBC or its current technology partner (Atos) unless there is a clearly identified business, financial and/or technical imperative for these to be hosted and operated by another party. In April 2017, it is expected that a new Hosting Platforms & Application Services contract will be in place, as the on-boarding destination for this Framework. System Quality Assurance (Lot 2) covers the provision of independent Quality Assurance and Testing services. These will complement the Testing Services provided under Application Design, Build and Integration and Application Provision and Integration. In addition to the above services, the successful Framework Suppliers shall be expected to co-operate with the BBC, its commercial and service management functions and the BBC’s other Suppliers. The BBC is moving towards a ‘Tower Model’ co-ordinated by an internal Service Integration and Management (SIAM) organisation (Function), requiring suppliers to perform a number of services which are standard across all Towers and also for which there will be specific dependencies between the other Towers and Systems Delivery, Integration and Quality Assurance services. This initiative is being managed as the BBC Aurora Programme, and is expected to reach completion by April 2017.
